Swiss Sustainability Reporting Excellence Awards 2026

On 22 September 2026, PwC Switzerland and Prof. Dr. Thomas Berndt, Chair of Accounting, and his team from the Institute for Law and Economics of the University of St. Gallen (ILE-HSG) presented the Swiss Sustainability Reporting Excellence Awards for the third time. The ceremony took place as part of the Swiss Sustainability Transformation Event 2026 at the PwC Experience Center in Zurich.

The awards recognise companies whose sustainability reporting stands out within the industry for its quality, transparency and comprehensiveness. This year, more than 280 public as well as private Swiss companies across different sectors were assessed.

The assessment combines technology-based analyses of complexity, topic weighting, tonality and graphics with a structured manual review of reporting standards, stakeholder dialogue, external assurance, findability and accessibility. The methodology builds on current research in financial and sustainability reporting and is refined with each edition.

The award-winning reports show that sustainability reporting is a credible basis for dialogue with investors, customers, employees and the public. It becomes an important tool to make a company's climate transition visible, measurable, comparable and financeable.
