New plant breeding techniques (incl. CRISPR) hold great potential for sustainable agriculture. But how should they be regulated – effectively and responsibly?

Organised by the Research Group of @Peter Hettich (University of St. Gallen), this interdisciplinary conference brings together experts to explore the scientific foundations, societal implications, and legal frameworks surrounding new plant breeding techniques.

Stephen Milford, Angela Bearth, Urs Niggli – ethics & society

Véronique Boillet, Pierre Walckiers, Nadina Isliker, Sara Fischer – legal frameworks in Switzerland & the EU

The conference will close with a panel discussion on how effective and responsible regulation can be designed.
