 Overview Course Offerings

We conduct relevant national and internatonal research in the field of Corporate Governance and transfer the latest findings in Science and Practice.

The research is interdisciplinary and often conducted with other partners from academia and industry. We focus on the following three thematic areas:

Corporate Governance

Especially the study of management and supervisory structures in public limited companies with regard to the design of the underlying business processes.

Board Governance

Specifically, the analysis of the tasks, duties and working methods of supervisory boards in national and international comparison.

Organizational Control

In particular, the interplay of Internal and External Corporate Governance and monitoring activities, including the Audit Committee, Management, Internal and External Audit, Risk Management and Compliance Function.

According to our teaching and research priorities, we regularly supervise final theses.

In addition to academically focused theses, we supervise a wide range of pracitce-oriented Bachelor's and Master's theses. For those considering writing a Bachelor's or Master's thesis, we recommend prior participation in relevant courses at the Bachelor's or Master's level. During the semester, a selection of current topics will be presented in lectures. Students can then indicate their topic preference or submit a speculative application.

The writing of the final thesis is governed by the regulations of the University of St. Gallen. Please refer to the relevant information sheets and guidelines for Bachelor's and Master's theses. A non-binding information sheet with guidance on writing academic papers for students can be found in the right-hand column under "Further Links".

If you are interested in writing your Bachelor's or Master's thesis in our department, please contact michele.sutterunisg.ch.
